Founded in 2001 by Stephen J. Carlidge, AIA, Shore Point Architecture, P.A. is a service oriented architectural design firm providing innovative and cost-effective design services across a wide range of project types. Our ever growing portfolio of work includes commercial, corporate, municipal, academic, hospitality and residential projects. Residential work ranges from single-family custom homes to multi-family structures and includes a significant commitment to affordable housing. The firm has also developed a significant expertise in preservation architecture. Our office is located in a national historic district and the firm takes great pride in restoring and reinvigorating historic structures. We see design as a highly collaborative endeavor and strive to involve the client in the design of each project. We initiate every design with an open mind and see each and every project as a unique opportunity to develop a solution that responds directly to the client's program, aspirations, budget, and schedule.

Stephen Carlidge, AIA

President

Mr. Carlidge is President of Shore Point Architecture, P.A. and founded the company in 2001. He has 38 years of professional experience spanning a wide range of project types. Shore Point Architecture provides architectural services for projects of varying types including residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. Prior to founding Shore Point Architecture, Mr. Carlidge was a Principal at Vitetta, a large multi-disciplined A/E firm based in Philadelphia with satellite offices in seven states. At Vitetta, Mr. Carlidge directed the firm’s Educational Studio executing projects valued at nearly $900M across the country. He also directed the firm’s Sports Facilities Studio where he was responsible for projects including the Liacouras Center at Temple University and the Sun Bank Arena, a 10,000 seat hockey arena in Trenton, New Jersey. Prior to his tenure at Vitetta, Mr. Carlidge practiced at GRAD (formerly the Grad Partnership) in Newark, NJ where he was responsible for numerous projects including high-rises, office buildings, research laboratories and residential work.

April, an Associate with the firm, has over 16 years of experience in the practice of architecture. She has been with Shore Point Architecture since 2005 and during that period, has managed some of the firm’s most challenging projects. Her experience includes a wide range of project types including the award winning "Springwood Center" mixed-use projected located in Asbury Park and "Pier Village Phase III," a 600,000 sq. ft. mixed-use development project located in Long Branch.  April prides herself in providing highly coordinated construction documents and works extensively with the firm’s consultants from the early stages of design through project completion.  In 2012, April was named AIA New Jersey “Young Architect of the Year" and was featured in "In Jersey" magazine.  She is a LEED Accredited Professional and served as an Architectural Department Mentor at her alma mater, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).







Andrea Fitzpatrick, AIA

Registered Architect - New Jersey

Andrea has been with Shore Point Architecture since 2008 and has worked in many capacities on various project types including "Mary’s Place by the Sea," an 8,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to supporting women who are receiving treatment for cancer. Andrea also manages the firm's residential work which ranges from custom single-family homes to multi-family projects to affordable and mixed-income housing.  She has vast experience on historic renovation/preservation projects, several of which have earned "Beersheba Preservation Awards" from the Ocean Grove Historical Society.  Andrea has worked closely with the nonprofit organization, Interfaith Neighbors, on numerous affordable and mixed-income housing projects and on the design of Asbury JAMS, a performing arts center on the west side of Asbury Park. In 2018,  Andrea was named AIA New Jersey "Young Architect of the Year."  She was also a member of the Oceanport School District Board of Education.

Angelica Arent, AIA, NCARB

Born and raised in Mexico City in a family of architects, Angie’s passion for design was nurtured from an early age. She launched her architectural journey at Universidad Iberoamericana, where she earned her Bachelor of Architecture while simultaneously serving as an adjunct professor. Her career began at one of Mexico’s most prestigious firms, where she gained invaluable experience working on high-profile projects. Since relocating to New Jersey in 2002, she has leveraged her extensive professional experience and global perspective to spearhead the design, planning, and execution of numerous large-scale commercial, institutional, and residential developments throughout the state. As lead architect on the firm’s most ambitious multifamily and mixed-use buildings, Angie is known for delivering innovative solutions to complex design challenges with precision and creativity.  Beyond her design practice, she is an active member of CREW NJ, serves on Arquitina’s Planning Committee and is member of both the AIA NJ Equity in Architecture and AIA NJ Women in Architecture Committees. In 2024, Angie was honored as AIA Jersey Shore’s “Architect of the Year” and recognized by AIA NJ as “Young Architect of the Year”. Outside of architecture, Angie is an avid explorer of new places, good food, and deeply values quality time with family and friends, while continuing to inspire future architects through mentorship and service.

Justin Calvert, AIA

Project Manager

Registered Architect - New Jersey

Justin is a registered architect with a versatile skill set ranging from high end residential design to K-12 public school work to religious spaces.  Justin has an eye for design and is a team player that can contribute to virtually any project type and scale in the office. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Drexel University.

Joanna Khater

Architectural Staff

Joanna received her Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Infrastructure Planning from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2020.  Her diverse educational background and experience has created a strong foundation that allows her to contribute to a wide range of project types, throughout various phases.  Joanna is proficient in multiple software platforms, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and strives to ensure that design documents are well coordinated and thorough. Joanna is currently in the process of pursuing her architectural license. 

Natalia Rodas

Architectural Staff

Natalia completed her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the accredited program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2024. Her versatile skills in multiple softwares including modeling spaces and adobe suites has contributed to the development of various projects. Natalia is currently in the process of pursuing her architectural license.
